"Fun In Agriculture" Homeschoolers Day 2018 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

4:30 PM to 6:30 PM - College Farm: Alfred State College Agriculture students Daniel, Amber, and Colton invite area homeschoolers and their families to come learn about plants through various hands-on experiences at the Alfred State College Farm from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Students will be split into three age groups: 4-6 yr. olds, 7-9 yr. olds, and 10 yr. olds and above. Activities include learning about pH and testing the acidity of various common liquids, identifying forages, making “TMR” with cereals, planting grass seed, and learning the processes involved in growing feed for cattle and other livestock from small seeds. The event is free and registration is encouraged, but not mandatory. Please email lewisam@alfredstate.edu with students' names and ages to register. Dress for the weather because one of the stations will be in one of the storage barns on the farm so it may be a little bit chilly in there depending on the temperature outside.
